"It is so very easy to consider the earth simply a composition of rocks, minerals and whatever else scientists attribute to it as the parts of the whole. I prefer to see it as a living entity possessed of a soul and in its essence some of the mysteries of Being -- unfolding into truths. It is ever-breathing and ever-changing though the senses may pick it up simply as a repitition of the rhythm of previous experience."      - Chinni, 1961

Commentary: A fascination with Italian Clifftowns and Greek Caryatids provided the basis for the sculpture exhibited at the Janet Nessler Gallery, NYC, in 1961. The work was made of black sheet wax cut, shaped, and assembled to be cast directly in bronze. Each piece was a unique work.
